See this:

I am in a tizzy of indignation. Is France going to join the ranks of the children-are-gods countries? bounce

Yeah, I know, it's not really trashy, but... I thought it might grab your attention Laughing

Don't worry Mary, this piece of news definitely belongs to the Trash section... Wink
I find it appalling that certain people have actually nothing better to do than trying to create acts to forbid parents to do their jobs...

What's even more appalling is that this "certain person" is in charge of La Famille in France, if I understand well... I smack my children, not an awful lot but from time to time, when they've deserved it. I don't think I'm traumatizing them in the least!!! And I will NOT have a law saying what I'm allowed or not to do in my own home!!! I have a feeling this (dear) country is going further and further down the lane towards complete infantilization of its adults....

aye, my mother never smacked us, and we got only a few slaps, the last one for me when I was around 18.. but I really deserved it, I must admit it! We were more afraid of my mother's paddies (is that the word?) and of punitions...but her punitions were always educational : dictations, multiplication tables and so on... so now it's useful, we must admit it!

I would much prefer being smaked to having to recite multiplication tables!!! And I think my kids would agree with me! Laughing
